Thanks Pamela
Well we dodged the bullet last budget go round ,but the mayor was on TV last night saying he was going to have to cut police and fire services. Something he said he wouldn't do.
Our city's finances are in dire straits due to a pension debacle a few years ago.
San Diego was known as Enron by the sea.
I know where not the only ones who's libraries are threatened It's happening all over the country.
Something we have going for us is that where one of the oldest branches, and probably the smallest. We have been slated for expansion for 15 yrs.
Also we are OB a community known for it's activism, we won't take a lot of c#*~ from the city. We would probably take matters into our own hands.
So the beat goes on.
So this sites pretty cool it was really neat to have Bertha sign on after looking for extended relatives for 30 yrs.
Have a great weekend
Pat
Pat, It is so disheartening to see you are having library problems too. Our libraries lost funding so of course new books are scarce and there is discussion of shorter hours. I finally joined the online PaperBackSwap. As I have always said, the library fine is only one I do not mind paying!!. I applaud your community involvement. Pam
